International Conference on Advances in Leadership & Management: Merging Eastern and Western Perspectives

Date: 4-6th September, 2017.

Venue: Indus Business Academy, Bangalore.

The three day conference witnessed more than 30 presentations including paper presentations and workshops as well. As the theme suggests, the conference brought in thought provoking concepts on various leadership and management topics and techniques from both the east and the west. The speakers and other dignitaries caught the audience in awe and everyone including the students actively participated in the activities and learnt various perspectives on leadership qualities.

The Conference was organized by the joint efforts of Dr. Subhash Sharma, Director, IBA Bangalore and Dr. Michael Zirkler, Professor, School of Applied Psychology, Zurich University. Eminent guests included Dr. K. B. Akhilesh, Professor, Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; Prof. Isha Gamlath, University of Kelania, Sri Lanka; Prof. John Clammer, Professor of Development Sociology at the United Nations University, Tokyo; and several others from prominent universities across the world.

Few book releases happened simultaneously on the conference including – Conversations on the Remaking of Managers, authored by Dr. Daniel Albuquerque and Dr. Subhash Sharma, Creative Research (3 volumes), edited by Prof. Anant Giri, Journey of Indus Business Academy: An Innovation in Institution Building, by Dr. Sowmya C S, and 3D…IBA Journal, Jul-Dec. 2017, Management, Leadership, Human Development and Ethics, edited by Prof. Meera Chakraborty.
