Date: 18th September 2015
Paryushan is an important Jain festival celebrated in the month of September. Paryushana means “abiding, coming together”. Paryushana is a time when the laity take on vows of study and fasting with a spiritual intensity similar to temporary monasticism.
As is traditionally done, Paryushan was celebrated on 18th September 2015, on the last day i.e. Kshama Vani with the whole IBA fraternity, by making Swastik and lighting 108 diyas in front of Lord Mahavir. In this we say Uttam Kshama or Michami Dukhdam meaning “sorry”, for mistakes we have done whole year or hurt/offended anyone. At the end sweets were distributed among everyone.
