The webinar took place on Monday, 11 May 2020, at 05:30 PM and allowed the students to familiarize themselves with the developed network on online websites.
At the centre of the webinar were the following aspects:
- How to increase professional networking online
- Summary of useful features of networking platforms
- Networking posts
- New features of networking platforms
- Q&A with the participants
The webinar was organised by Prof. Chandra Kant from Indus Business Academy and had a timely announcement so that the students were well aware of the speaker and her accomplishments with regards to the session which is going to be conducted.
The main function of the webinar was to introduce the students to the importance of networking with a focus on the usage of LinkedIn. The students, thus had the opportunity, to know the features on LinkedIn, posts enabled to improve the network online, and some advanced features on the app, which helps for the development of their current path.
The following were the detailed aspects discussed:
- Career Shifting
B2B: LinkedIn (increase in network usage)
B2C: Facebook (post the area of interest – in the background)
- Profile headline should have the details of one’s experience, updated occasionally and is changing
- LinkedIn summary, meaningful insights about the education profile (hashtags with the schools and colleges which you studied in, the alumni) and the companies which you have worked with and also the experience
- Post: Publishing content regularly is very important, post account with your interest and start building relationships with your network
- Networking post: it can be for a stranger, alumni or a decision-maker.
Become an influencer; if unemployed, comment on new people every day
Building: making a connection, networking post and school groups

- Career Advice: community, polite and insightful comments are necessary
This was followed by a Q&A session in which students asked an array of questions that revolved around the use of digital media for professional benefit in various ways; from work-related networking to generating leads for one’s organisation.
In total there were two sessions which were conducted for half an hour each. The webinar ended with the vote of thanks by Prof. Chandra Kant to the Ms Janaki Srinivasan.
