Navratri 2022
Navratri in Hinduism is a major festival held in the honour of the divine feminine dedicated to nine forms of Goddess Shakti with governing planet. It is a time when Hindus celebrate the goddess Durga for killing the demon Mahishasura. Every year this festival is celebrated with zest and fervour. The central emphasis of this event is to commemorate the triumph of good over evil.
The nine forms of Mata Durga which is worshipped during Navratri are; Shailputri on first day, Brahmacharini on second day, Chandarghanta on third day, Kushmanda on fourth day, Skand Mata on fifth day, Katyayani on sixth day, Kaalratri on seventh day, Mahagauri on eighth day and Siddhidatri on ninth day.
Like every year, IBA celebrated Navratri from 1st October to 5th October,2022. The celebration started on 1st October morning 7.30 at Santripti ground floor by offering prayers and chanting bhajans in chorus in front of the idol of Goddess Durga. After Pooja, Prasad was distributed to everyone. In the evening also there was Pooja. The same was repeated on the 2nd October. Dr. Manish Jain sir also joined for the Pooja in the evening from then. Pooja was done in the morning and evening on all days. Special dinner was there on 3rd of October followed by Anthakshari. 4th October, Navami the 9th day night was the Dandiya night. On 5rd October evening after Pooja, the main highlight was the cultural programs performed by both the batches 2021-23 & 2022-24 followed by special dinner and Visarjan. Dussehra, which is one of the major Hindu festivals that marks the end of Navratri was celebrated on 5th October. The festival ended with the celebration of ‘Ravan Dahan’.
