Republic Day 2020
REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS
Date: 26th January 2020
Republic Day is celebrated annually, as it is the anniversary of the day India became an independent republic. Though India’s declaration of Independence was signed on 15th August 1947, the constitution, which was written for independent India, came into effect on January 26, 1950. It was on this day that the largest constitution of the world was put into effect. India since then, became a Republican state – “Of the People, For the People, By the People.” The constitution assured the people liberal rights and duties guaranteed through the Preamble. This day marks the sovereign, secular, and democratic set up of the country and is since known as the Republic Day of India.
IBA is often termed as INDIAPURA since it is home to people who come from different places all over the country. It is also called MINI-INDIA. Apart from studies, IBA follows culture and tradition to celebrate every festival where students take active participation while organizing the event. All festivals that happen in a year headed by the YMCC Committee, where students are taking care of organizing completely. The proceedings of the day started with Flag Hoisting, followed by Lamp Lighting by Director Sir and members of Faculty & Staff. This was followed by Saraswati Vandana, invoking Goddess Saraswati for her blessings. Students took active participation by showcasing their talents like Dancing, Singing, Speech, and poems, which created an atmosphere of patriotism. Speeches were also delivered by some of the eminent faculty members. Each participant took this great occasion further by showcasing their talent, which was a great success. It truly signified IBA as a place where Unity in Diversity strongly exists by showcasing it.
