A lot of people initially asked us the reason behind naming ourselves Indus Business Academy. We are proud to share our deep roots with Indian history, Indian management which has always been praised in the east. The word “Indus” reflects the Indian history which along with “Business Academy” denotes an Indian Management School.
IBA has created a niche for itself in the sea of management institutes through the culture it imbibes in its students.
The mission at IBA is to bring excellence in creating and nurturing Research Orientated Academics, Entrepreneurship and Leadership with Sensitivity towards society. We decided to address these issues by creating a world class infrastructure in an 8.5 acre eco-friendly land. The curriculum at IBA is designed in a manner that it will be rigorous, which will be constantly upgraded based on corporates’ requirement and would be in tune with the latest case studies and real time experiences. A strong and active corporate networking helps us to feed the inputs from the industry into academics. Apart from curriculum, the best available faculty teach IBAians to improve their leadership, communication and soft skills.
At IBA, the talent of the students is sharpened through various Clubs like the HR, Operations, Marketing, Finance, IT and Retail Club. The objective of these clubs is to inculcate the habit of working in a team and to encourage peer learning. These clubs actively organize learning events, seminars, guest lectures, etc. to keep the club members abreast with latest trends in corporate and academia. To keep the culture of India alive inside the campus of IBA we have an active Cultural club named YMCC (Yoga Meditation & Cultural Centre) which organizes the celebration of all the prominent festivals within the campus.
The end results of these strategies will be visible in a couple of years when these young minds will start performing in the industry. IBA encourages students to participate in various research paper presentations, management fests and other B-School competitions which give them a competitive environment and a platform to interact with the peer group from other institutions. The IBA Vision, its Culture, the Teaching and the Training will become a role model for new generation B-Schools in the country in the near future.
The vision is to get IBA into the top B-Schools in the next 3 years. For achieving this, we are making sustained efforts to induct talented faculty and facilitate them to bring major breakthroughs in knowledge creation. The results are evident in their scholarly publications or articles, research papers and books as well as presentations in National and International Conferences. This is strengthening our efforts in knowledge creation and distribution and thus making IBA a ‘Centre of Excellence for Learning‘.
We aim to build managers and leaders who are hardworking, who believe in dignity of labour, who are team players and pragmatic, having their foot firmly on ground. Indus Business Academy in Bangalore is marching on the path to glory.
Think beyond, Think IBA!
