Archish 2018
Archish 2K18 – 10th National level Management and Cultural fest of Indus Business Academy, Bangalore
Date: 9th-10th March’18.
Place: Indus Business Academy, Bangalore.
The two days’ extravaganza witnessed participation from various colleges in India. The theme of the event was “D-Krypt,” which was an amalgamation of the concepts of Disruption, Cryptocurrency, and Hygge (happiness in Danish culture). The entire campus was beautifully decorated by the students and as per the theme. There were 14 verticals for students to participate – Photography, Ad-making, Treasure Hunt, and Cultural besides the regular management verticals.
9th March, marked the invocation ceremony and the day started with a formal welcome being addressed to all the participants and guests in the auditorium. The participants were then guided to the respective rooms, allotted for the different verticals, and non-participants could engage themselves in the stalls put up in the convocation ground or be an audience to any of the verticals. Several food stalls were present, offering a variety of dishes including- Pav Bhaji, Dosas, Parathas, Biryani, Gola, Juices, Fruit salads, and many more. The stall that pulled in the most crowd was a tattoo centre by Needle Street, Bangalore, who were offering amazing discounts for the two days.
From 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the participants went through rigorous rounds that tested their knowledge, spontaneity, and presentation skills. From 5:30 p.m. onwards began the cultural rounds in the amphitheatre. All the students, participants, and guests joined for the cultural competitions and programs, and even after an entire day of consecutive rounds, everyone was full of energy and enthusiasm. On day 1, the show was stolen by the beatboxers. The Beat-boxing competition was judged by Mr. Harry D’Cruz (Hari Haran), who is a certified national level judge for beat-boxing and has won several competitions of beat-boxing. All the beat-boxers who took part were amazing, and very talented, and took the crowd in awe. Another peak point of the cultural night was the dance competition. Mrs. V Padmasree, who is currently a board member at Om Shantidhama Gurukula, located near Kaveri Sangama, imparting free Vedic and general education to students from economically weaker sections, and a lady with a highly creative mind having interests in all forms of art was the judge for the event. The audience witnessed different dance forms and applauded with elation after each performance. Each participant added more oomph to the show.
On day 2, all the verticals concluded with their final rounds, and the cultural events started at 6 p.m. To grace the occasion, we had amongst us Ms. Shweta Mehta (winner of MTV Roadies –season 15). Ms. Shweta Mehta was, of course, the star of the event, but the participants didn’t attract less attention. The singing competition moved everyone, and each participant sung beyond words. Besides the competitions, the students of Indus Business Academy, Bangalore performed various dance numbers, drama, songs, and fashion walk to entertain the audience. XIME, Bangalore, was announced as the overall winner for Archish 2k18. The two days’ event was such a success due to the joint efforts of the students, faculty members, and staff of IBA. All the winners and runner-ups were presented with a memento, certificate, and vouchers from various sponsors of the event.
