Blood Donation Camp Report
Blood Donation Camp
Date: 2nd March 2020
A wise man had once said, “Donate your blood for a reason; let the reason be life.” Keeping in mind the importance of what a pint of blood can do to save a person’s life, HOPE Committee had organised a Blood Donation Camp at IBA Bangalore, along with Bangalore Medical Services Trust (Rotary Bangalore & TTK initiative) on 2nd March 2020.
The camp started at 11:30 am with a team of 9 members, which included one doctor, one team in charge, and 7 staff/nurses, along with members and volunteers of the HOPE Committee. Volunteers, Students, Faculty, and staff of IBA, enthusiastically came forward to donation of blood. Donors of rare blood groups were also present. A total of 71 people came forward, but only 55 were eligible to donate blood, 16 got rejected due to Blood pressure or hemoglobin issues. Tests were done to identify their eligibility, before actual donation, also helped all donors to know the status of their health. All donors were treated with excellent care before and after donating. Refreshments were provided to all donors. Those donors who felt dizzy after the procedure, were taken care of immediately by the BMST team and the volunteers of HOPE. It was a successful event that gave immense pleasure and satisfaction to everyone who worked for it. It would not have been possible without everyone’s support and enthusiasm.
A certificate of appreciation was given, to each donor and each volunteer who worked for such a noble cause. The College also received a certificate of appreciation for organising such a valuable event.
A question worth wondering is, how to bring back a life back to power? It’s quite easy. Donate Blood. Make it your responsibility. Sparing only 15 minutes of your life can save a life.
Never forget, “You are somebody’s Type”.
