Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed primarily on December 25th as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world.
A feast central to the Christian liturgical year, it is preceded by the season of Advent or the Nativity Fast and initiates the season of Christmastide, which historically in the West lasts twelve days and culminates on the Twelfth Night.
Christmas Day is a public holiday in many countries, is celebrated religiously by a majority of Christians as well as culturally by many non-Christians, and forms an integral part of the holiday season organized around it.
Santa Claus, also known as Father Christmas is a legendary character originating in Eastern Christian culture who is said to bring gifts and candy on Christmas Eve.
To make this day special at IBA, all the seniors and juniors came together as a team, from decoration to preparing activities for the event to make it successful.
There are different activities where students took active participation under the guidance of the YMCC Committee.
- We started the celebration at around 6:00 pm on 25th of December near the grocery where all major Christmas decorations were made.
- The event started with two of our juniors hosting followed by activities like Carol, games, role play, and a flash mob by juniors and seniors.
- There was also an exciting moment where two Santa’s came in showering us with some candies.
- We had a Christmas cake cutting and also distributed plum cakes to all the students.
- We had a confession activity which was open for a day to submit the confessions.
- This magical day ended with reading out the confessions of seniors and juniors.
