Diwali, the festival of lights, is a religious observance commemorated by Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and even some Buddhists around the world. Every autumn, the observance sees millions of people attend firework displays, prayer services and festive events in celebration of the occasion. While Diwali holds significance for a variety of reasons, one of the core themes of the festival, as symbolised by the prevalence of lights, is the triumph of good over evil.
At Indus Business Academy, YMCC plays an important role, in organizing, and celebrating different events and festivals.
Just like every year, YMCC organized Diwali, and the festivities started with lighting the diyas on the eve of Dhanteras i.e. 25th November 2019. The day of Diwali, 27th November 2019, started with Lakshmi Pooja and Havan by Director Sir, Dr. Subhash Sharma Sir in the morning. In the evening whole campus was decorated with diyas since Diwali is meant as the festival of lights which gives hope for the enlightenment of life. Students were dressed in traditional wear and volunteered for lighting the diyas on the campus. In the night delicious dinner was served in Santripti with all the diyas as decoration of on the dining tables. Later, after the dinner, students enjoyed bursting crackers in celebration of the spirit of Diwali and the evening came to an end with students ending the festival by lighting the Sky Lanterns in their second home, IBA.
