Diwali Celebrations 2023
Date:12.11.2023
All major world religions happily celebrate Diwali, often known as the festival of lights. This celebration honours the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance. They worship Lord Ganesha for prosperity and well-being and Goddess Laxmi for wealth and wisdom.
The YMCC hosted Diwali as usual, and on the eve of Dhanteras, the celebration began with the lighting of the diyas. Since Diwali is a celebration of lights that inspires hope for life’s enlightenment, the entire campus was decked out in diyas.
Students offered to light the diyas throughout campus while dressed traditionally. At 7:00 p.m. students together performed a pooja, and then sweets were distributed. Students lit the Diyas in the walkways, Admin, CR, Santripti, and KMC block. Lighting setups were used to decorate our buildings.
In Santripti, a delectable dinner was given that evening. Students celebrated the spirit of Diwali by popping crackers after dinner. The evening concluded with students lighting the Sky Lanterns in IBA, their second home, to commemorate the holiday. Undoubtedly, celebrating this Festival in the IBA campus provided us with cozy comfort, and we relished every second of it.
