Eid-Ul-Fitr 2021
Eid-Ul-Fitr 2021
Date: 14th May 2021
Eid is a sacred celebration when the Muslims come together and hug each other with promises of charity, kindness, harmony and brotherhood. This festival is not about being happy but to make others happy and nurture their desires. The Islam community from all across the globe shows their gratefulness to Allah for everything they own. Two kinds of Eids get celebrated by Muslims around the world with great enthusiasm and fun. The first one is Eid-ul-Fitr and the other being Eid-ul-Azha. Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan (Ramzan) when the Muslims break the fast, whereas Eid-ul-Azha honours the end of the Haj pilgrimage.
On the day of celebration, Muslims offer gifts to those in need and celebrate them with great affection and joy. Moreover, they get together in hundreds in places like Jama Masjid to offer prayers.
Eid al-Fitr has a particular salat (Islamic prayer). After salat, Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr in various ways, with food (Eid cuisine) being a central theme, which also gives the holiday the nickname Sweet Eid or Sugar Feast.
Likewise, we celebrated Eid-Ul-Fitr in Indus Business Academy because it is Indiapura or mini India and the second home for students from different parts of India. Apart from studies, IBA also allows students to celebrate every festival, where students take the initiative to make the event successful, under the guidance of a capable committee called YMCC. Like every year, this year also, YMCC allowed us to celebrate Eid-Ul-Fitr together in IBA.
On 14th May, students celebrated Eid-Ul-Fitr as follows:
- They had a get together where everyone had to be in ethnic wear around 12:30 PM
- Students wished each other on this auspicious day to spread happiness and brotherhood with kindness and harmony.
- They also had a special lunch arranged by the YMCC committee around 12:30 PM.
- In the special lunch, students had Rooh Afza milk, Sewai, Paneer biriyani, Poori, Mushroom curry, Lijjat papad, Curd and Cucumber.
After having the special lunch, everyone made memories on this auspicious day, and the day culminated successfully with everyone’s support. In the end, we dispersed with sweet memories in our heart.
