
Empowering the Self: A Transformational Workshop at IBA
On January 29, 2025, Indus Business Academy (IBA) had the privilege of hosting an insightful and transformative workshop on “Empowering the Self,” conducted by Mrs. Pooja Chawla and Ms. B.K. Gitanjali. Held in the Auditorium from 11 AM to 1 PM, the session provided students with invaluable perspectives on personal growth, mindfulness, and the power of meditation in professional and personal life.
Mrs. Pooja Chawla, an esteemed alumni of IBA (Class of 2004), is an accomplished IT professional with 17 years of experience in HR training and SAP implementation. She has worked extensively as a SAP HR specialist, spearheading projects across diverse industries such as manufacturing, retail, healthcare, and finance. Currently an entrepreneur, she has been associated with Brahma Kumaris for the past four years, integrating spirituality and meditation into leadership and corporate excellence. Ms. B.K. Gitanjali, an IT engineer, has five years of experience working with Microsoft. Inspired by the teachings of Brahma Kumaris, she found immense value in meditation and mindfulness, leading her to dedicate herself as a full-time meditation teacher and motivational speaker since 2019. Her expertise lies in conducting inspirational talks and meditation courses aimed at self-empowerment and stress management.
Mrs. Pooja Chawla, drawing from her personal journey and corporate experience, shared how meditation has been a powerful tool in helping her maintain composure, clarity, and resilience during challenging situations. She encouraged students to embrace mindfulness techniques, emphasizing their significance in navigating the corporate world. Through engaging interactive exercises and thought-provoking questions, she ensured that students actively participated, reflecting on their own perspectives and experiences. Ms. B.K. Gitanjali further elaborated on the practical benefits of meditation, discussing how it fosters a balanced mindset, emotional intelligence, and self-discipline—crucial skills for future professionals stepping into demanding careers. Her session left students inspired to explore meditation as a tool for personal and professional empowerment.
