Ganesh Chaturthi 2015
Date: 17th September 2015
Both the batches at IBA, came together to organise Ganesh Chaturthi, the Hindu festival celebrated in honour of the elephant-headed Lord Ganesha on 17th September 2015. As per the tradition, celebrations take place on the 4th day of the first fortnight (Shukla Chaturthi) in the month of Bhadrapada, according to the Hindu calendar.
IBA Students took the initiative of decorating and made the ambience look even more beautiful than past times. During the five days of the festival, Aarti of Lord Ganesh was done twice a day, where students wholeheartedly worshipped the idol. One day Antakshari was conducted among the students after the evening aarti.
There was a grand celebration on the last day, which was even more enlightened by the presence of Mr. Manish Jain, CEO – IBA Bangalore. The last day also marked an auction for The Laddu, which was placed in the hand of the idol. At last, it was bagged by a group of students and was shared, with every individual in IBA. Then at around 10 PM, the idol was carried to the place of immersion with lots of hooting and dancing. Then the idol was immersed in the lake, signifying his return to his mother’s lap. These five days of Ganesh Chaturthi were a blissful experience to all the students.
