Guest Lecture – Mr. Prashant Gupta
Date: 7th Sep, 2019
“Problems are like Ice, strong and staunch how much you will refrigerate it will be strong so as the problems how much you will think about it, they will become strong, it is better to let it go.”
These lines pretty much formed the nucleus of the session by Mr. Prashant Gupta, Founder & Director, Wisprout Life Pvt. Ltd. In detail, Mr. Prashant dealt about influence of thinking on emotions and feelings.
The salient points of the session were as below:
- Why can’t we be awesome all the time?
“MIND is the universal intelligence behind life, consciousness creates an awareness of what we call reality and thought is the power create our moment to moment existence.”- Sydney Banks.
It is because, we act based on our emotions and feelings in every situation. Human brain works like a movie projector rather than a camera power from our brain visualizes everything which happens in our life.
- Which is the better to resolve an issue?
“We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”- Albert Einstein
Normal human tendency is we believe that if we think about a problem much we can solve but it is other way around if we think about a problem less there is more probability of solving it. To drive the point home, the main cause of tides in an ocean is due to winds if intensity of wings increases the intensity of tides increases so as in this case of thinking about a problem.
- Three principles
Three Principles of Sydney Banks are not new principles which are invented suddenly they are on the lines of human life but only thing is we have to discover them. These 3 principles influence psychological functioning of human beings.
The 3 Principles are:
- MIND – We are alive.
- THOUGHT- We think
- CONSCIOUS- We are conscious
- Mind
The energy and intelligence of all life, whether in the form or formless. The Universal Mind, or the Impersonal mind, is the constant and unchangeable. The personal mind is in perpetual state of change.
- Consciousness
Consciousness is the gift awareness. Consciousness allows the recognition of form, form being expression of thought.
- Thought
The power of thought is not self-created. Thought is not self-created. Thought is a divine gift, which serves you immediately after born. Thought is the creative agent we use to direct us through life.
- Need of understanding 3 principles
Understanding these 3 principles help us to understand deeper reality. Without 3 principles we can’t understand reality, we live in our own reality which created in past. Rather, understanding the three principles points you within, helps you see that it is YOU that is creating your experience of life and no-one else. And it is that understanding that transforms a human being.
- Why I am not good enough?
It is general human tendency; which we feel we are not good enough but we have to fight back in every situation. For instance, when Edward Hillary failed to climb Mt. Everest for the first time he said, as a mountain you can’t grow but as a human being I can.
Psychological well-being is in-built in our immune system. It is our free will whether to think about it or let it go. Because of thinking we will be in stress. Psychological problems because of over thinking but not lack of thinking. Eventually, it is better to let it go than over thinking about it and reducing the probability of solving it.
The session ended with a short but powerful quote/thought:
The power is not in thinking about our experience but understanding the nature of our experience then we are not so afraid of our thinking.
