‘Hang Out’ Session with 2007-09 Batch Student of IBA Bangalore
Date: 1st July 2023
The phrase “hang out with friends” has become a favorite among the current generation. However, due to restrictions, the new students at IBA (Indian Business Academy) cannot hang out with their seniors. To compensate for this limitation, a series of informative sessions have been organized, providing an overview of IBA culture. These sessions feature recent alumni from various pass-out batches who graciously share their campus life experiences and the valuable lessons they learned during their two-year journey at IBA. These experiences encompass academics, events, clubs, committees, conferences, fests, and more.
The panellists chosen for these sessions are individuals who were at the forefront of numerous extra- and co-curricular activities at IBA. Whether it was involvement in clubs, committees, management fests, Kalakshetra, Burning bush, International Conference, TEDX, or Archish, they left a mark. Notably, they were also recipients of various awards during their graduation ceremony.
The format of the discussion is an informal chat between a senior and a junior, aimed not only at breaking the ice but also providing insights into the vibrant campus life at IBA. The panelists openly share their personal IBA journey with the students of the 23rd batch of IBA Bangalore, highlighting the significance of blending academics, events, clubs, committees, conferences, and fests in their growth. They recount the fun, the challenges they faced, the art of influencing and effective management, the resilience needed to overcome adversities, team building skills, maintaining a clear line between personal and professional life, the importance of result orientation, and even their experiences with depression and how friendship played a crucial role in overcoming it.
Overall, these sessions prove to be invaluable for the new students, providing them with valuable insights into the IBA culture and what lies ahead during their own academic journey.
