Happy Holi! “Bura Na Maano Holi Hai”
Date: 25.03.2024
“Holi is not Holi if there is no love, harmony, togetherness, joy, and enthusiasm among everyone.” On the first day of Holi (known as Chhoti Holi or Holika Dahan), an effigy of Holika made out of cow dung is burned on a woodpile, along with other old, worn, and waste items practice that reminds us to do away with all the negativity in life and front of a bonfire, people pray for their inner evil to be destroyed, just as Holika was killed in fire.
The carnival of colors begins the next morning, where people come out to play with colors and drench each other in colored water through water guns or balloons. Color psychology believes that every shade in this world has a deep meaning behind it and emits rays of different wavelengths that affect living beings around them. The bright and playful colors of Holi have the following meanings: Yellow — Hope, Orange — Happiness, Red — Love, Pink — Positivity, Green — Abundance, etc.
By sprinkling these colors on each other, people send out positive vibes and wish for their friends & family to get all the good things in life.
“A hug like a splash of color, a laugh like a burst of light – Happy Holi!”
