Holi is considered as one of the most revered and celebrated festivals of India and it is celebrated in almost every part of the country. It is also sometimes called the “festival of love”, Festival of Spring, as on this day people get to unite together forgetting all resentments and all types of bad feelings towards each other. The festival celebrates the eternal and divine love of Radha Krishna. It also signifies the triumph of good over evil, as it celebrates the victory of Lord Vishnu as Narasimha Narayana over Hiranyakashipu. The vibrancy of colours is something that brings in a lot of positivity in our lives and Holi being the festival of colours is actually a day worth rejoicing. Holi is a famous Hindu festival that is celebrated in every part of India with utmost joy and enthusiasm.
Holi celebrations start on the night before Holi with a Holika Dahan where people gather, perform religious rituals in front of the bonfire, and pray that their internal evil be destroyed the way Holika, the sister of the demon king Hiranyakashipu, was killed in the fire. The next morning is celebrated as Rangwali Holi (Dhuleti) – a free-for-all festival of colours.
We are at Indus business academy which is known as Indiapura for having students from all around the country and celebrating every festival. So, the YMCC Cultural committee organized Holi at IBA campus to celebrate along with the IBA family to feel at home. As Holika is celebrated one-day prior the day of Holi, we celebrated Holika in front of santripti from 7:15 PM onwards 17TH March 2021,
- The story behind Holika was narrated by a student, which was followed by lighting an oil lamp and performing Pooja. After that, the woods were set on fire with the help of ghee and camphor.
- Our respected CEO, Dr. Manish Jain sir performed the puja along with a few seniors and juniors while the bonfire was lit.
- Immediately after Holika Dahan, a small initiation of the festival of colours happened.
- On the very next day, March 18th of March at around 9:00am we started with the Holi play in the laundry ground.
- The element of excitement in the play started with colours, water balloons, pichkari and then with the arrival of the water tank supplying water meanwhile there was music played continuously using sound tower in the event.
- The colourful festival ended with an appetizing feast for lunch at Santripti by the YMCC Committee.
The celebration went well with everyone’s support and it turned out as a great memory to cherish for a lifetime.
