Hope Day Celebrations
Date: 20th August 2015
On the 20th of August 2015, IBA celebrated its 15th Foundation day, which has also been termed as, HOPE day for IBA. The day, however, bears a lot more value in the minds of everyone linked with IBA for things more than this. Ever since in 2009 students of IBA Bangalore launched the CSR initiative – HOPE, the institute has had a practice, whereby the students, faculty as well as staff dedicate their time on this day spending with either underprivileged kids in orphanages or elders in old age homes.
This time around the HOPE Committee had invited kids from Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled (in HSR Layout). The trust contributes towards helping and uplifting the Differently Abled children and takes developmental initiatives for their successful inclusion into the mainstream society. The kids were greeted with a warm welcome by the IBA fraternity and were guided for the IBA flag hoisting ceremony. As a mark of foundation day celebration, the cake cutting ceremony took place along with the kids who subsequently got involved in drawing competition and various games that were devised for them by IBA students.
Towards the end, IBA students gave their cultural performances in the companionship of the Differently Abled kids. As the day ended, the kids were taken for a sumptuous meal at the IBA Mess – Santripti, after which they bid farewell to IBA with lots of love & blessings, strengthening our attempt of giving back to the society, and the spirit to be a better person from within……….
