IBA bags 1st prize at at the 13th HR Showcase – NHRD Bengaluru
The National Human Resource Development (NHRD) session held in Bangalore provided an exceptional platform for industry leaders to share their insights and experiences. As student members of the Placement Committee at Indus Business Academy (IBA), our participation in this session was invaluable, allowing us to interact with industry professionals and gain a comprehensive understanding of recruitment trends, industry-specific hiring needs, and best practices in human resource management.
Attending the NHRD session enabled us to stay updated on the latest trends, advancements, and challenges in HR. This experience enhanced our knowledge of the ever-evolving talent acquisition landscape and equipped us with skills crucial for facilitating the recruitment process at our institution. We gained exposure to recruitment strategies employed by leading organizations, understood the importance of employer branding and talent retention strategies, and developed essential skills such as communication, problem-solving, and decision-making. Moreover, we had the opportunity to strengthen our professional networks by engaging with HR professionals and industry leaders.
A major highlight of IBA’s participation was securing 1st place in the Academia Best Practices category at the 13th HR Showcase during the 27th National HR Conference by NHRD Bangalore Chapter. IBA’s winning entry, “The Competitive Strategy Game,” a market simulation designed to enhance strategic thinking, impressed industry leaders with its real-world applicability. The award was presented by Anish Philip (President – NHRD Bangalore Chapter) and received by Manish Jain, Prashant Kulkarni, and a team of outstanding IBA students. This recognition further solidifies IBA’s commitment to industry-ready education and innovative learning methodologies.
The session featured expert speakers from reputed organizations, offering a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical industry applications. Key discussions included the evolution of AI in HR, innovative recruitment strategies by top companies, and the importance of industry networking. Additionally, IBA managed two booths—one dedicated to academic excellence and another focused on corporate engagement, where HR-centric quizzes and activities were conducted for professionals.
As placement committee members, we played a pivotal role in managing various event activities, including handling registration, social media management, and logistical support. We actively participated in coordinating masterclasses, assisting industry experts, and ensuring the smooth execution of the session. Our engagement extended beyond the annual conference, as we also took part in monthly NHRD meetings where panel discussions on HR innovations and emerging industry trends provided continuous learning opportunities.
Noteworthy topics from the conference included the role of AI in HR, upskilling CxOs, managing Gen Z in the workplace, and the future of work in India. Renowned speakers such as Dr. S. Seetha, Abhishek Kumar, and Magdalena Nowicka Mook delivered impactful insights on workforce transformation, leadership development, and productivity enhancement.
IBA’s participation in the NHRD session was an enriching experience that contributed significantly to the professional growth of its students. The event provided hands-on exposure to industry practices and strengthened their understanding of HR dynamics. The insights gained will undoubtedly enhance their effectiveness as future HR professionals and business leaders. This experience reinforced the importance of networking, continuous learning, and adaptability in the evolving HR landscape, and IBA looks forward to leveraging this knowledge for future success.
