Independence Day 2021
Independence Day Celebrations
Date: 15th August 2021
Independence Day is celebrated annually on 15 August as a national holiday in India commemorating its independence from the United Kingdom on 15 August 1947, a day when the provisions of the 1947 Indian Independence Act, which transferred legislative sovereignty to the Indian Constituent Assembly, came into effect. The Quit India Movement, which characterized nonviolent resistance and civil disobedience, led to India’s independence.
Indus Business Academy (IBA), a gathering place for people from all over India, with pride, celebrated the culture, history, and legacy of diverse India. Along with studies, IBA allows students to honour all national holidays, festivals, and events that occur in the year in collaboration with the students as volunteers. IBA also celebrated 75th Independence Day this year, as it does every year.
The event began at 9:30 AM at Amphitheatre, with the hoisting of the Indian National Flag and recital of the National Anthem. Along with all the faculty members and staff on-campus, students participated in the celebration via zoom. Dean, Dr Subhash Sharma, presented an enlightening speech that everyone benefited from hearing. The presentation by Program Director, Dr Subhendu Dey, in Q & A format, informed students of some interesting facts that grabbed their attention and made them actively participate. There were appreciable performances from students of both the batches (20-22 and 21-23) like singing, dancing, poetry and short speeches. The event ended with the Vote of Thanks from Prof. Narendra Babu.
All the Faculty members, staff and students parted ways with lovely memories in their hearts.
