Janmashtami, the day, when the almighty Lord Vishnu came on the earth as Lord Krishna to end the sins of Kans, an evil asura but his uncle by relation. On 24th August’19, Janmashtami was celebrated in IBA campus at night. The puja was organised by YMCC team along with students from 2019-21 batch.
The program started with a dance performance, by students of batch 2019-21 which was enjoyed by every one present. After the beautiful dance, the Radha-Krishna couples were invited on the ground for the first round, of best Radha-Krishna selection process. In the first round all the Radhas were supposed to impress their Krishna.
After that, Abhinav and Shruti from batch 2019-21 recited the story of Janmasthami. It felt divine to hear the story behind the birth of Sri Krishna. Not only Krishna but that day, a girl had also taken birth. Yoga Maya, sister of Lord Krishna, who sacrificed her life to save her brother.
Subsequently, further rounds of selection process began for the best Radha-Krishna couple. The Krishnas were blindfolded and were to find their respective Radha by touching every girl’s hands. After this, 7 couples, were shortlisted for the next round, at the end of which, 3 couples were selected, for the final round. In the end, Tejaswini Tripathy and Ankit Mathur became the Radha-Krishna for the year 2019.
Then, Ankit was given the privilege to break the matki after which the puja began. CEO Sir, Mr. Manish Jain along with Bhavya Ma’am and Vaishali Ma’am joined the gathering for the puja. In the end, everyone did aarti, and the program ended, with the distribution of prasad.
