Lohri and Pongal Celebrations
Indus Business Academy recently came alive with the vibrant celebrations of Lohri on January 13th and Pongal on January 14th, bringing together students and staff in a joyful display of cultural diversity and unity. The festivities commenced with Lohri, marking the end of winter and the arrival of longer days. The highlight of the evening was the traditional bonfire, around which attendees gathered to sing folk songs and perform energetic bhangra and giddha. Peanuts, popcorn, and rewari were distributed, adding to the festive spirit, while the warmth of the bonfire symbolized prosperity and happiness. As the event took place at night, faculty members were not present. The following day, the campus embraced the South Indian harvest festival of Pongal with equal enthusiasm. A beautifully designed floral rangoli added color to the celebrations, followed by a traditional puja and the distribution of prasad. A kite-flying competition saw students skillfully filling the sky with vibrant hues, culminating in a special lunch at the mess featuring traditional Pongal delicacies. The back-to-back celebrations created a lively and inclusive atmosphere on campus, reinforcing the values of tradition, gratitude, and togetherness. From the glow of the Lohri bonfire to the artistic beauty of the rangoli and the excitement of kite-flying, these cherished moments left lasting memories for all attendees. Indus Business Academy looks forward to continuing this rich tradition in the years to come.
