Paryushan Parv 2015
Date: 18th September 2015
Paryushan is an important Jain festival celebrated in September. Paryushana means “abiding, coming together.” Paryushan is a time when the laity takes on vows of study and fasting with a spiritual intensity similar to temporary monasticism.
As is traditionally done, Paryushan was celebrated on 18th September 2015, on the last day i.e. Kshama Vani, with the whole IBA fraternity, by making Swastik and lighting 108 diyas in front of Lord Mahavir. In this, we say Uttam Kshama or Michami Dukhdam meaning “sorry,” for the mistakes we have done the whole year or hurt/offended anyone. In the end sweets were distributed among everyone.
