Comprehensive Career Resources at IBA: Preparing Students for a Competitive Market
Securing a job in today’s highly competitive market can be daunting. At IBA, our outstanding career resources are a crucial component of the management education we provide. Placements at IBA are not just a seasonal activity but an ongoing process that begins from the moment students join the course through our Advanced Placement & Training Programme (APTP). This initiative is driven by our exclusive Institute Industry Interface (I3) Committee, comprising select students and Placement Officers. The APTP includes the following key components:
Interfacing
The I3 Committee acts as a vital link between students and industry leaders, organizing a variety of events such as Workshops, Seminars, and Guest Lectures. These events provide students with opportunities to engage with experts from diverse fields, including Banking, Consulting, Technology, Investment Management, and more. This direct interaction helps students gain insights into industry trends and expectations.
Mentoring & Career Counselling
Throughout the two-year program, each student is assigned a faculty mentor. Typically, each faculty member mentors 10-12 students, guiding them through projects, presentations, internships, and career planning. These mentors offer personalized support, ensuring that each student’s interests and career goals are carefully considered and nurtured.
Grooming
In the final phase of the program, students undergo intensive preparation for Aptitude Tests, Group Discussions, and Interviews. This phase includes mock sessions to build confidence, reduce nervousness, and refine their responses. Additionally, students are groomed in crucial but often overlooked areas such as Corporate and Email Etiquette, ensuring they are well-rounded professionals ready to enter the workforce.
By integrating these elements into our curriculum, IBA ensures that our students are not only academically proficient but also industry-ready, equipped with the necessary skills and confidence to excel in their careers.
