SHRI RAM NAVMI CELEBRATION 2021
Date: 21st April 2021
Shri Ram Navmi is a Hindu spring festival that celebrates the birthday of Shri Ram, the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu. It also marks the end of Chaitra Navratri or Vasant Navratri. Being far from home festivals are the occasions which make every student miss home more than usual.
IBA is known as Indiapura for having students from all around the country and celebrating every festival. So, the YMCC organized everything to help students celebrate the festival with the IBA family and feel at home.
The celebrations were a hybrid of online and offline so that students and faculty away from campus could offer prayers along with the ones present in IBA. It started with a puja to invoke God’s blessing and offering flowers to him. Then everyone performed Aarthi in praise of Lord Ram and took the prasad.
Then was the most awaited part of any festival, the traditional food for the occasion that everyone gets to eat. After finishing the exam for the day, the eagerly waiting students enjoyed the special dinner. It was a special mixed menu with food items from all corners of India. There was Jackfruit curry with Poori, Ghee rice with Dal Tadka, Kheer, Moong dal and Paanakam (Jaggery water).
The pandemic outside and the examination stress were all forgotten in the celebration of the joyous occasion.
