Ugadi 2021
UGADI CELEBRATION 2021
Date: 13th April 2021
“The greatness of a culture can be found in its festivals.”
Celebrations bind our hearts, togetherness fills the void, sharing of love that spreads the smiles, and hands held together with joy and care, festivals, are moments to be cherished forever. As YMCC (the cultural committee of IBA) never fails to organize festivals with great pomp and show, Ugadi 2021 was celebrated at IBA Bangalore on 13th April, with joy and fresh spirit of the new year. Ugadi is one of the important festivals celebrated in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. The special food items of this festival are the Ugadi Pachhadi and Puran Poli.
All the volunteers for the festival were excited and started working pretty early in the morning. Some decorated the campus with mango leaves and rangoli, while others chopped fruits and vegetables for all the special food items of the day.
Traditional attire was the dress code of the day, and the campus, looked vibrant, with students in sarees and dhotis. Everyone cherished the moments by clicking selfies. Some seniors enjoying their last few days at the campus were embracing each other, while others were helping cook lunch for everyone. Both seniors and juniors were working hand in hand to make the festival successful.
All food items were made with love and care and with extra effort.
The day ended with a gala lunch and Ugadi specials that had Mirchi Bajji, Bobattu, Cucumber Salad, Rice, Papad, Mango Juice and Ugadi Pachhadi.
The hard work of volunteers paid off as they received warm hugs and smiles from everyone.
Thanks to YMCC, the festive mood of students were fulfilled, keeping all the hygiene precautions during this peak covid time.
