Our age-old traditions have gifted the country with various festivals and fairs. It is a great way to understand the rich heritage of India and learn about the importance of various festivals. Ugadi is a popular festival in south India. It marks the first day of the new year in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana. Falling near the spring or vernal equinox, this day plays a vital role in the cultural heritage of these parts of India.
The day is observed using traditional rituals, decorations, and food. Ugadi heralds’ new beginnings and gives a sense of completion as it also marks the end of the previous year.
Likewise, we celebrated Ugadi at our second home called Indus Business Academy. IBA is a home for all people across India who take immense pride to celebrate their own culture, tradition, heritage here. This year also like every year, YMCC Organised the prominent celebration of Ugadi. All the volunteers started working from 7:00 in the morning. The campus was decked up with mango leaves, flowers and rangoli. Students were part of preparing food for everyone to provide the home touch to the celebration.
Everyone Dressed in Ethnic attire and the campus looked vibrant with students wearing sarees and dhotis. Everyone was cherishing the moments by clicking selfies, seniors were enjoying their last few days at the campus and embracing each other. And as YMCC never fails to provide delicious food on events, even this time the Committee organised a special Lunch for Ugadi where we had Obbattu with ghee, Mirchi bajji, mango juice and Ugadi Pachadi etc.
The hard work really paid off after receiving warm hugs and smiles from everyone.
