YES+ Programme at Art of Living International Centre, Bangalore
Students underwent training at the Art of Living International Centre, Bangalore from 28th September 2015 to 30th September 2015. It was a short visit aimed at energising the students and imparting a holistic knowledge of world and life in them through the YES+ (Youth Empowerment Skills+) course.
The course for the students started on 28th with regular exercises and Surya Namaskar with the two mentors allotted to them. The students were divided into groups of 11 members to go around in various activities. They were also taught the Sudarshan Kriya invented by the founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji which has now become famous throughout the world. In the three days, students were taught 5 important sutras for life:
- Live in the present moment
- Opposite things are complimentary
- Do not be a football of other’s opinion
- Accept people and situation as they are
- Do not see intention behind other people’s mistake
The students also learnt the art of listening; to listen everything being said, rather than listening what you want to hear. Students were also taught Concentration Yoga and mini Sudarshan Kriya that can done at home or even office spaces to keep mind focused and stress free. Students also attended the Satsang sessions every day and followed novel practices of the ashram like eating only veg food, drinking lots of water, sleeping early at night, avoiding hot or cold beverages.
It all came to an end with students deriving a lot of positive energy and learning how to handle stress and keep mind and body fit.
